Destination Wedding Photographer at Hitchin Lavender | Athena & Vy
I’ve always loved Lavender and the smell of it, so when Athena wanted her pre-wedding/engagement photoshoot to be at Hitchin Lavender, I was stoked!
As a Destination Wedding Photographer, I love travelling for work (and play!). Although my work is largely centred around London and it’s iconic hotspots, I love venturing out this city and going wherever my camera takes me, as cheesy as it sounds. As an engagement and pre-wedding photographer in London, I can’t think of a better thing than to road trip with my adventurous couples!
About an hour and a half drive from London, Hitchin Lavender boasts 25 miles of lavender rows. Hitchin Lavender’s exact location is in Ickleford, and offers an incredible view of rural Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. We arrived just in time for sunset - a golden hour session is any London Wedding Photographer’s dream. Check out the incredible golden and creamy yellow light we had going!
Between our frequent screams in fear that a bumble bee would eat us alive, to the incredible scent of Lavender roaming the vicinity, this Destination Wedding Photographer was loving it and soaking everything in. We ended our London engagement photoshoot by picking our very own Lavender to take home with us (with Vy having to help me get the lavender - it became apparent very quickly that digging up lavender by it’s roots was not exactly my forte). Hitchin Lavender are kind enough to provide (sharp) scissors to each customer that visits their Lavender fields, as well as a paper bag to bring home some lavender.
Athena and Vy were every bit the incredible couple - this fairytale London engagement photoshoot was not only stylish and non-traditional - it was minimalist yet timeless at the same time. It’s been a pleasure working with you guys yet again, and so stoked to be sharing these images from this pre-wedding and engagement photoshoot!
