London Fashion Photographer at London Fashion Week 2019 | Catwalk Content for Fad Charity & Fashion Futures

I mentioned in my previous blog which you can read here that I was asked to photograph a catwalk show at London Fashion Week 2019 for Fad Charity and their project Fashion Futures. I’ve already blogged about all my behind the scenes content that I created, so I thought I’d get straight into sharing my catwalk images!

Fad Charity is an organisation that aims to help young creatives build a sustainable design career no matter their background. The charity break the boundaries and stereotypes that still exist within the fashion industry, and shortlisted designers are selected to have their pieces walk the runway at London Fashion Week. It is an absolutely revolutionary era and an incredible time to be alive, and I love what Fad Charity do! They are lead by the incredible Maria Alvarez and are also backed by incredible volunteers and a great team. At the end of this London fashion show, several winners from different categories are appointed, and it is an incredible way for young designers to be recognised for their talent.

As a London fashion photographer, I was stationed in the photographer’s pit with one eye permanently transfixed onto my viewfinder and my right hand permanently on my shutter. The show was incredibly received - you could tell the audience loved it! The models absolutely rocked the designs and pieces they were showcasing, and there was so much diversity amongst both designers and models that makes me super happy to be a part of something so incredible.

Being in the photographer’s pit at London fashion week as a London fashion photographer is intense yet super rewarding. London Fashion Week is a celebration of designers from all over and their incredible work. It is a night where we all come together as an audience to appreciate the art they have created for us to consume, which is one of the reasons why I love London Fashion Week. Like I mentioned in my previous blog about Fashion Week - it really isn’t a place for the faint hearted! More often than not, sometimes schedules aren’t going to plan or a button may have popped last minute. Maybe a model has dashed to the toilet last minute. London Fashion Week is chaotic yet beautiful and an incredible place where creativity is encouraged which is the beauty of it all. I am so glad to be a part of it all.

Best of all, I managed to capture George Howie’s family members react to him as the joint winner for the main prize which was priceless!

Here’s to a great season!
