Most iconic London spots: a London Photographer guide

There are so many iconic London spots that I thought I’d write a blogpost documenting my favourites! As a London lifestyle photographer, I’ve been spoilt for choice in terms of what this big bad city offers so I thought I’d breakdown my go-to iconic hotspots in London!

1) Westminster

I love Westminster despite it being one of the most crowded and busiest areas in London. From Westminster Bridge, you have such a great angle of the London Eye, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, the River Thames.. As all these giant hotspots are so close in vicinity, it makes navigating around the city so much easier, especially if it’s your first time to London.

You’ll often see people getting their Instagram content on Westminster Bridge - the iconic London black cabs and red London buses make perfect for incredibly instaworthy content. As a London photographer, I’m guilty of this myself! Catch Westminster Bridge during the early hours of the morning and you won’t regret it. :)

2) Tower Bridge

A lot of people tend to get Tower Bridge and London Bridge mixed up - although both are very close to one another in terms of location, the views they offer are completely different! Think of London Bridge as the plainer, more vanilla friend if you like… and Tower Bridge is the cousin that got to flourish.

Jokes aside, Tower Bridge is stunning. It is a suspension bridge in the heart of London, and consists of two bridge towers which are tied together at the top by two horizontal walkways. You can actually get tickets to visit this unique attraction if heights are your thing! I actually had a London lifestyle photoshoot here a while back where the bridge opened up for a huge ship to get past (it is a particularly low bridge) and it was quite a magical experience being on the bridge itself when this happened. As a London lifestyle photographer, I love this seriously instaworthy spot!

3) Regent Street + Piccadilly Circus

Don’t get me started on Regent Street! As a London photographer, this is definitely my favourite location in London, especially in the early morning when London is still asleep. It is the perfect combination of classic and timeless, while being a true embodiment and icon of London.

Regent Street is filled with international shops - you can pretty much find anything! The buildings are such a classic and so elegantly designed - the beauty of the architecture in London never ceases to amaze me! Again, you’ll often find people getting their Instagram content here and I don't blame them at all. Regent Street is a major shopping street in the West End of London - as a London photographer, I actually do quite a bit of my retail therapy here!

With the frequent appearances of red London buses and the iconic London black cabs, this is the top contender for me. The walkway in the middle of Regent Street is perfect for a London lifestyle photoshoot - one that I love to utilise for my photoshoots.

Piccadilly Circus is just up the road with the iconic screen / billboard featuring targeted ads and also the closest underground station. There are often buskers playing incredible music in the Piccadilly square - there really is a whole host of talent in London, a very welcoming and forgiving city.

If you continue walking further into Regent Street, Oxford Street is at the junction - more shops and more damage to all of our bank accounts. But hey, I’m not one to complain. I really cannot recommend this location enough and as a London lifestyle photographer, it is an incredibly popular location and understandably so! An iconic London tourist hotspot indeed.

As a lifestyle photographer London seriously never fails to impress me in terms of it’s incredible locations and spots. Hopefully this blog post on some of London’s most iconic spots has helped you to decide where to visit if you are ever in this amazing city that I am so grateful to call home.

Xoxo
