London Pet Photographer at Cats Protection: National Cats Adoption Centre | Haywards Heath

Those of you that follow my work know that by trade, I’m not what you would call a traditional pet photographer in London, but when the opportunity came up to visit Cats protection: National Cats Adoption Centre in Haywards Heath, I was all ears!

My friend Sergej - an incredibly talented Videographer actually invited me along as he was doing the video coverage, and we made the journey to the South of England together via train. Funny story, actually I kind of forgot to buy a train ticket because I had tapped in via my oyster card on the train, and I didn’t realise that they didn’t accept TFL oyster cards past a certain stop once you leave London. Rookie error.

I’ve worked with cats on many occasions- mostly in home environments for my London lifestyle photoshoots, but not quite on a one-to-one basis so I was super stoked for this! The cats at Cats Protection are all waiting to be adopted so as a cat photographer, these photos would be going on social media to promote which cats are waiting to be rehomed.

I love what Cats Protection do - last year, over 41,000 cats and kittens were rehomed, and because of Cats Protection, they are able to get a new start in life. A lot of the cats and kittens at the adoption centre are vulnerable, and have been through some sort of trauma in their lives so it is vital that they go to loving and warm homes. As a cat photographer, I learnt that these centres rely a lot on volunteers, so for anyone reading - if you’d like to offer some help in any way shape or form, it comes highly appreciated! In the meantime, enjoy the photos- I certainly had a great time! Maybe, just maybe, I should look into being a full-time animal photographer in London… just maybe. 😂
